Denry’s pedagogical background encompasses international schooling, independent boarding, and the UK state sector. Formerly Head of Upper School at Harrow Bangkok and Associate Director (Special Projects) for Harrow International Management Services, he has considerable experience of schools operating in diverse and competitive contexts, particularly in Asia.
His role for Harrow International covered new school development, project management of new school openings, HR, operations, compliance, marketing, and brand activation/alignment.
Denry currently supports the University of Warwick with their PGCEi teacher training programme and previously lectured for Keele University on their MBA, MA and PGCEi.
Focussed on the implications of business thinking within education, his PhD led to publications on the economics of international schooling, organisational psychology and school marketing. He sits on the peer-review panel for the Journal of Research in International Education.
Denry has written numerous textbooks, including co-authoring the best-selling DK ‘Business Book’. His most recent book ‘International Schooling: A Teacher’s Guide’, co-authored with Dr Stephen Whitehead, was published in late 2020 and offers practical advice for teachers embarking on, and enjoying, the international adventure. He is also co-founder and Managing Editor of the Educational Digest International (EDDi).
He also currently serves on the Governing Body of a small not-for-profit international school in Malaysia and, trained as a Chair/Co-Chair, has undertaken several CIS accreditation visits.
